ACTB SL
Freetown, Sierra Leone

ACTB Sierra Leone is an MFI created in 2008 by the British Christian charity ACTB (A Call to Business) and the London impact investing group Truestone.

With more than 17,000 customers, including approx. 72% women, ACTB is currently one of the largest MFIs in the country. The institution grants various microcredits, including:

  • Group loans
  • SME loans
  • Loans for school fees
  • Individual loans
  • Housing loans

In addition to microloans, the MFI also offers leasing products and financing products for private schools. But the institution did not stop at microcredit and also created a production house, a brickyard, a consulting company, a poultry farm, an orphanage and a school.

In 2014, ACTB obtained its banking license and the authorisation to collect savings in 2017. A year later, the MFI also launched its digital channel development strategy.
