The Luxembourg Fund Labelling Agency (LuxFLAG) is an independent international labelling agency specially focused on the responsible investing sector. The primary objective of the LuxFLAG Microfinance Label is to reassure investors that the microfinance funds actually do what they claim to do: invest in microfinance while respecting internationally recognized standards.
LMDF has endorsed the transparency the label brings for investors since 2011 and this year has invested 90% of its assets in microfinance (maximum amount authorized by the Fund Prospectus).
Annually, the fund’s accounts are audited by KPMG Luxembourg, a global network of audit professional services firm, tax and advice. A report of the auditors with their comments is published in the audited annual report of the fund.
Principles for Responsible Investment
The United Nations-backed Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) were developed by an international group of institutional investors reflecting the increasing relevance of environmental, social and corporate governance issues to investment practices.
LMDF is a signatory to the principles and has been reporting annually on its compliance through the PRI inclusive finance assessment process.
