Departure of the chairman of LMDF
Axel de Ville, chairman of the Luxembourg Microfinance and Development Fund has announced his departure in view of his new challenge to develop the microfinance sector in French speaking Sub-Saharan Africa with the United Nations Capital Development Fund.
LMDF’s board of directors and team wishes Axel all the best for this new and exiting position. Looking back, Axel has been the visionary and driving force behind the creation of LMDF. And once created, Axel made sure that LMDF stayed true to its social mission of developing the sector and the right balance between financial consideration and social impact.
You have probably read his letters to the shareholders, published twice per year in our reports, where he commented on current issues and the strategic challenges a young social venture fund faces. His voice and opinions will certainly be missed. However, we wish Axel well in his continued dedication to the microfinance and inclusive finance sector.
