Alternative Credit Company S.A. is a microfinance institution based in Chiclayo, Lambayeque – Peru. It was established in 1992 through an agreement between the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Lambayeque and the Inter-American Development Bank. Originally focused on granting loans to small and micro businesses, the institution successfully transitioned into a regulated financial entity in 2001, known as Empresa de Crédito Alternativa S.A.

Since its inception, Alternative Credit Company S.A. has been dedicated to serving the microbusiness niche and fulfilling a social role in all the regions it operates. The institution has strategically made decisions aligned with its mission, providing funding to micro and small entrepreneurs to help them grow their businesses. With a strong focus on rural and agricultural loans, the institution aims to support the development of rural areas, where 91% of micro-entrepreneurs reside.
